Detroit for beginners - 3h tour

We’ll start with a ride on the Detroit People Mover to get a quick overview of the downtown area. Back on the street, we’ll walk the whole downtown, from Campus Martius Park to Hart Plaza and the River Walk. We’ll discover the Renaissance Center and from there much more impressive architecture: high rises and skyscrapers by iconic architects such as Albert Kahn, but also Minoru Yamasaki, and Wirt Rowland. We’ll look up and be amazed by so many stunning buildings. 

I'll talk a lot about the history of Detroit, about new developments, about the hipster invasion and gentrification. By then, you'll need some good coffee in one of the hip coffee bars or boutique hotels, or perhaps a Coney dog, a Detroit culinary staple.

Possible extension (2h): the Midtown museum district and the Fisher Building
